Another Book Meme
Found via Kirk. I omitted the last one about tagging people...If you read this and you want to do it, knock yourself out. I love book memes, so I'm doing this one. (So there, nanny nanny boo boo, etc.)
1. One book that changed your life: You know, as much as I read, I don't think I can point to any one book that changed my life. I think I take things away from every book I read that influence my world view and the way I think, but I've never really read any one book that has sparked a dramatic change.
2. One book that you’ve read more than once: The Bone People, by Keri Hulme (I don't usually reread books, but this one was assigned in a fiction class, and I loved it so much I wanted to read it again without academic pressure.)
3. One book you’d want on a desert island: As I said, I don't tend to read books twice, so something long that I haven't read before. Maybe Middlemarch or War and Peace? Or Gravity's Rainbow; that's a long one and I hear it usually inspires a reread.
4. One book that made you laugh: A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving
5. One book that made you cry: The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger (and by "cry", I mean that there was snot and sobbing).
6. One book that you wish you had written: Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner. Because if I were to write a book, I think it would be similar to that. Plus that one is one of the best of its genre, and it made Jennifer Weiner a lot of money, which would be awfully nice.
7. One book that you wish had never been written: Who Moved My Cheese
8. One book you’re currently reading: I usually only read one at a time. Right now it's The Virgin Blue by Tracy Chevalier.
9. One book you’ve been meaning to read: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Been meaning to read that one for at least 15 years.
